Review & How To:
Clinique Chubby Stick – Sculpting Contour & Highlight
I love my cheekbones and Fashionista Sistas philosophy is if you love something about yourself then you should highlight it. Don’t you agree?
On my recent trip to the States I was on a mission to find the perfect contouring product. I scoured the shelves of Sephora and Ulta asking every assistant for recommendations and advice.
I bought a few different options but one of the cheapest purchases I made during my quest is actually the one I love the most. It was from the Clinique Chubby Stick range. Don’t you just love the name of these products? I purchased the Sculpting Contour and Highlight Chubby Sticks and it turns out, these are my favourite.
If you want to contour and highlight in a matter of minutes, these are for you.
After applying foundation grab the dark contouring stick and start drawing. Suck your cheeks in and draw along the lower edge of the cheekbone from the top part of your jawline down. It is important that you know where to stop. If you are not sure grab a pencil and hold it vertically against the far corner of your eye and if you follow the line down your face, that is the point where your contouring must stop.
I have a heart shaped face so I use the contour colour under my cheekbones, on each side of my forehead and the jowly bits that seem to have developed on either side of my jaw. I also use it to define my nose and shorten it.
Blend, blend, blend. I use a Real Techniques Stippling Brush to do this.
Use the highlighting stick across the top edges of your cheekbones, down the nose and on the cupids bow. Blend out with your finger.
Apply some cream blush and you are good to go.
It literally takes only a few minutes and it stays on all day. Give it a go.
