Are you aware of the power your wardrobe holds? It has the ability to empower you, lift your mood and make you feel beautiful, sexy and confident. An outfit can make you feel invincible or on the flip side, completely invisible. I know what sort of outfits I want in my wardrobe. How about you?
If you read our blog or follow us on Facebook you would have noticed that empowering our clients and giving them self-confidence is what we are all about. Whether they are wanting to achieve business success or just to feel better about themselves, the reinvention process always seems to begin in the wardrobe.
Researchers have found women attach emotions to clothes. If you open your wardrobe now, what would you see, how would you feel? It has been said that clothes are like photographs, they bring back memories of the time we wore them. They invoke emotions, sometimes positive or negative.
If your wardrobe is full of negative emotions such as an outfit that no longer fits you and reminds you of the weight you have gained, or the time you wore that dress when you and your partner had a big fight or you saw a picture of yourself in those pants and realised what they actually look like from behind… it is all just bad wardrobe karma.
We encourage our clients to banish anything that has negativity attached to it. Get rid of it, sell it on Ebay, give it to charity but don’t leave it as a negative reminder to look at every day. They are not the clothes that are going to make you feel invincible.
I feel that I must mention to you that having a wardrobe full of outfits that light you up and make you feel amazing has little, in fact nothing, to do with the cost of your clothing, the brand of your clothing or the size. It is all about choosing pieces wisely, that flatter you and make you feel great.? I have a dress in my wardrobe that cost me $15.00 and I can’t tell you how many times I have been complimented whenever I wear it.
When you look good, you feel good and you perform at a much higher level in your personal and professional life.
Maybe this weekend it is time to do a wardrobe edit and start working on that wardrobe of greatness. Who knows where it will lead you?
